    1. @Emma Dixon : Well Emma , first dog or not , learn about basic obedience training and make your first dog a well balanced , well behaved , safe dog .
      Now you know !

    2. @Brooks Equine  Not everyone is going to know everything with their first dog. You can’t get upset with someone because they don’t have a perfectly trained first dog. It’s called “learning from experience”. I am at least trying now to train him properly.

  1. From the first episode itself I can gurantee that this is one of the best series by Zak!
“Nobody is going to adopt her and it’ll be my fault” that hit hard and Moira seems such a good girl 🙂

    1. @Coastal Coyote I so relate to you. I took a 9 month old foster labrador in 2016. She is been adopted 6 times and they returned mostly within 2 days because she cant stay alone. She had broken glass windows, jumped 6 foot high wall and even from 2nd storey of my house. Because of her i can not move out of my parents house. I hope this series helps me and i can leave her alone at my house.

    2. @Coastal Coyote I would suggest joining Zak’s Patreon page, you should be able to DM him on there, or get a reply to a comment. He may be able to give you some tips on your situation specifically.

    3. @Siddharth Kapadia  I would suggest joining Zak’s Patreon page, you should be able to DM him on there, or get a reply to a comment. He may be able to give you some tips on your situation specifically.

  2. Boy, that’s a lot of confidence you put in that pillar in your house you tied Moira to. She looks like she could easily take it down, with the house coming crashing down on yous! 🤣🤣🤣

  3. The sad part is, my dog acts exactly like that. She doesn’t know how to let go, she barks CRAZILY. even worse than that and pulls. (She’s also a GSD too!) so thank you so much. This is one of the series that I actually will watch every single little thing

    1. @Mookie Betts criticism is inherent part of progress. Don’t be too soft. Accept it/take it implement and get on with as a better pack leader (should say friend I suppose)

    2. @Ronin Esce dude what? criticism, especially since you don’t know me or my dog, is not necessary. You can give tips or whatever, but it’s not helpful at all. Frankly, it’s just stupid and rude. And what do you think I’m trying to do? I’m trying to train her. She’s a reactive dog

    1. @Jamey Quiring you’ve fallen into Zakis subscriber numbers, only proves his vids are over edited and he’s a great salesman. I’ve seen him get walked by a dog avoid and do nothing, it’s embarrassing for the industry. Fraud

    2. @K9 Services+ I never said anything about a muzzle. Muzzle training can be good. This GSD needs upstate canine academy / canine performance/punkassdogtrainer/nate schoemer

    1. 😂🤣 you would think since we do this professionally we wouldn’t forget them about half the time and have to run back home LOL!!! Apparently it’s a universal issue 😆🙌

  4. I also love how this shows that despite her bad habits, Moira is also really smart and has so much potential. People overlook that often in untrained high energy shelter dogs. It’s a very hopeful approach…these dogs need to be understood and given a chance rather than be written off as a lost cause.

  5. I found this really emotional, such a beautiful, clever, “enthusiastic” dog, you can really see her wanting to do the right thing. I love how Zac can keep his cool and bring out the best in her. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of this series. Bring it on.

  6. I’m so excited for this series. My 9 month old Australian cattle dog is very reactive when she sees other dogs and now people. It’s been overwhelming and exhausting some days, so I’m happy to see a series tackle these issues.

    1. @Jony James yes I was starting to socialize my dog right from the get go, but I could tell she was nervous around other dogs, and then covid got worse in my area. I took her to a dog training class for 6 weeks, and now that the trainer has seen her, she told me to sign up for their agility classes in the spring. Cause she looks aggressive, but really she’s just not confident around other dogs. At least she has one dog friend that she likes 😅

    2. @Melinda Schachter awh, it’s nice that ur dog has a friend!! My dog rarely gets to see other dogs and she gets so scared around everything! Her hair stands up when shes barking at other dogs or people. And here in my country, we dont have much opportunities for socialising at all😞

    3. @Jony James yup, my dog is the same. Hair raised, barking and pulling if on the leash. She has been so easy to train, but this is the one thing I’m having a hard time with.

    4. @Melinda Schachter I hope we both will be able to train our dogs to be calm around people cuz its soo exhausting to not be able to take her out on a normal walk☹

    5. After having a reactive dog for 12 years, we decided to get a BC puppy from a breeder and start him out right!. We tried socializing him and going to classes the first 6 months… then Covid! So he’s 22 months old now and we’re in the same boat- nervous-aggressive and frustrated around other dogs, unsure of some people… so glad this series is out! We dreamed of a super smart dog we could take anywhere, well trained, off leash, doing sports, etc. but he’s incredibly high drive, like Moira! Exhausting!

  7. This….is….almost the spitting image of my rottweiler/shep mix Fenrir, caracter wise. This series will (hopefully) give me hope that my dog isn’t as untrainable as I thought despite being almost a year old T_T

  8. Finally a video with a dog who behaves like mine. I almost gave up on my puppy because all videos on dog training deals with calm well behaved dogs.

    1. I’m a new owner and its for service dog training for my PTSD but the breeder wouldn’t let me take him at 8 weeks, she made it 6 weeks so I’m overwhelmed cuz he hasn’t learned how to socialize and its up to me now but we are under QUARENTINE so he’s become VERY aggressive and hates me 😭😭😭 it’s too much for me. His service training isn’t suppose to start until he is afew months older

  9. I must admit I was a little bit disappointed that Moira didn’t bark her head off at the other dogs, because that is the worst part of reactivity in my experience. It’s so embarrassing and stressful especially if you’re already awkward towards strangers yourself 😣

    1. Yeah I am struggling with this too! I have a more mild case. I got a good natured but shy rat terrier mix puppy in November at 3 months old. She was a little shy by nature but totally fine and no barking. But because COVID spiked in November we didn’t see anyone for a few months … now at 8 months old she barks her head off at every passing person and I feel terrible!! It’s so awkward in the neighborhood in the middle of the day. Thankfully she doesn’t actually bite or anything, she’s a lot more good natured than my chihuahua. Gonna have to work on this!!!! Let’s all keep doing our best. Not easy!

    2. @Coastal Coyote omg I know how you feel, my dog yelps and screams too when he sees other dogs and it really sounds like we’re beating him up. It’s so freaking embarrassing! 😭

    3. @T L Ha ha. I have a lady Rottweiler who does that too.
I think it is just that she is sizing up the other dog before getting too close.
She is watching intently to see how the dog reacts to her approach and if the signs from the other dog are not good then she will break off.
It does look a bit like a lion stalking its prey though!!

  10. Zak you’re just awesome, dude! The dog was clearly feeling abandoned, afraid, scared and you managed to make her feel loved and cared about, by trying to understand her and have patience with her, you made her crave for learning and playing, in the end, a dog just wanna feel loved and welcomed in a family, no different from us. keep it up, you deserve every blessing you have in life.

  11. Mad respect for trying this. A lot of other trainers claim you can’t turn a dog like this with force-free training. I’ll be watching this series.

    1. @Sanika Ingle . . . Dude. The dog is pulling him as much as he is her. Without yanking, she might break free and get harmed, (run into the street, run into an aggressive dog, get kicked by a fearful human.) She’s not leash trained yet, there’s nothing he can do to prevent tugging yet, and I’m sure its something he’ll address in the future.

    2. @Sanika Ingle Firstly it’s because she’s lunging, not him yanking. Secondly because of the harness. It distributes the force over a large area instead of a small line like a flat collar.
I don’t think this is the preferable method to train a dog, btw, but I do like to see him do it.

    1. @Conner Benton Guys dont hack peoples insta it invades their personal buisness and it really hurts to know that Someone who your supposed to trust would do such a thing to you.

    1. @Nora D’Alessandro right?! I feel awful my dog is asleep on the floor 😭 I get so offended when I go to someone’s house and they yell at their dog to get off the couch cause true excited to see me 😭

  12. When a person sets up an air mattress to sleep next to a dog to make her more comfortable, you know he’s a good guy… Well done. 🙂 I love Moira. I am thinking I want a dog like her, but I need to learn so much before. This is a great channel for a person, who doesn’t know much of dogs. Thank you!
