    1. I’m not Zak but the only way to cure counter surfing is to make sure your dog isn’t successful. This means that you should always put away anything tempting if you are leaving the room. This means put the bread/cake/cheeseplate whatever you have, in the fridge or in a cabinet they cannot access. Dogs are naturally opportunistic. 🙂 And will continue to take food if they are successful at it.

    1. My dog rides on my motorcycle …

.. but it helps that I accepted that not all dogs enjoy riding on motorcycles.

Baby steps help. Start by putting your dog on the board at home, make it fun so the dog desires it and finally make it happen on the water. But not all dogs love the water.

I honestly think my dog rides on my motorcycle because she refuses to let me go anywhere without her … not because she love riding on the motorcycle. I’m good with that.

That’s actually a tool you can use to your advantage. After the dog is comfortable touch, stand on and just being near the paddle board … bring the dog to the shoreline or dock where you launch, you just get on the board and paddle away leaving the dog behind. Go in a circle back to where the dog is THEN invite the dog to get on the board … patiently! Dogs don’t like to be left behind so that’s motivation to jump on.

Remember everyday is a new day for dogs … a bad experience or not liking something is soon forgotten.

    3. @chill will Ok!! I will definitely try your tips. And yes, everday is a new day for our pups. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & it means a lot. Even though I have a great relationship with my dog I still want to try my best to be as close to her as possible. Hope you have a good day & good luck with your dog 😊

  1. What I done to train my dog to stop barking on command was I waited for her to stop barking and immediately put my finger over my mouth and go “shh”. Then give her a treat and lots of praise.

When she starts barking now I just say “shh” and she stops barking immediately
