    1. lol your puppy is 15 weeks old. Welcome to having a puppy. Puppies bite, puppies chew, puppies pee and poo every where and do not sleep through the night. Puppies are a huge commitment and often NOT good for first time dog owners (Presuming you are if you have this problem).

A large percent of dogs that end up in kill shelters are dogs surrendered by their owner bc their puppy that is now a year or two is “bad” or doesn’t “listen” and they don’t want it anymore… Bc its the dogs fault… right?

  1. My 4 month pitbull picked this up in 5 minutes. Although she’s not 100% perfect, it has helped us play fetch and has tremendously helped me when she steals my socks. Thanks for taking your time to make these videos Zak! Truly appreciate them during my pup’s puppyhood.

  2. Help! My puppy just lunges and keeps biting all over the toy, bites my hand too, so I let go. He gets too worked up. He’s a three months old lab. I thought him sit, stand, down and shake by watching your videos. But I can’t teach him to ‘let go’.
EDIT : I tried again and he learnt it. Thanks Zac

    1. @Aralynn Abrahamson Haha. This happened to me a lot. I gave him the toy and played tug for a while -(I had a dog collar or harness on him) and when I wanted him to let go, I just gently held him by the collar or leash so he is near me (cuz if he can move around freely, he pulls real hard) and grab the toy tightly as Zac says. When he lets go of the toy, I throw and let the collar go.
Zac has another vid on puppy biting and “leave it” command which both worked for my puppy; helped him not to bite.
I hope my explanation makes sense. My dog is an adult now. I remember watching all puppy training vids. Good luck to you guys.

  3. You got a thumbs up, a subscribed and a new video notification from me, just because you actually explained all that is going on between you and your dog during a tug of war game… Because this particular video was very helpful for me in understanding my dog better.

  4. I love how this doesn’t involve treating with food… when food enters the equation all my dogs focus is on the food, not the other training tools.

    1. Took a grass or little soft stick and took it a bit in the moth. The dog will sneethe ant let it go

Sorry for my Englisch, here I wrote it in German XD

Suche dir einen Grashalm und kitzel den Hund im rachen leicht. Entweder hustet oder niest er, dann lässt er los und du belohnt ihn indem du gleich weiterspielst. LG

    2. Try doing it well there sleepy if they are stubborn there more likely to give up expeshely if the game gets boring my dogs also extremely stubborn but I retried when she was sleepy and it worked much better

  5. I think you missed it on this one, Zack. You never assigned the “Let Go” command so they would learn to stop on the words “Let go.”

    1. @Moist Muffin my pitbull is progressing. Just like tug on something and they’ll play with it and then stop completely and repeat “drop it” until they eventually drop it and then praise thenn and continue play. For my pitbull it took so many tries. I’ve been at it for about 3 weeks now and she drops after the 2nd or 3rd time I say it
