While on the surface this video is about how to teach your dog to leave something alone, what I really think is important is that this is one of the first exercises you can do to build communication with your dog.

One of the fastest ways to teach your dog the difference between "Yes" and "No" is to teach them to leave something alone. Not to mention the cutest corgi puppy you have ever seen in your life is in this video!

  1. You don’t NEED the clicker, I find it helpful for a person to have a “button” in their hand to press in order to teach the person to have great timing. But you can say “Yes”, also:)

    1. Hi! I don’t really know much about dog training, what is the clicker exactly for? Is it to make an association between good behavior and the sound? Great videos!

  2. I have a 12 week old weimerraner, just thought her her this in about 15 minutes! You are incredible with dogs and your videos are extremely important and helpful! Thank you for helping make our puppy a better addition to the family!!!

  3. I coincidentally taught my 6 month old Border Collie, Baxter, to “leave it” today! It took me about 5 minutes and I was able to put it on his paw and he didn’t touch it for about 30 seconds! I was very proud of him!

  4. We’ve just got a new puppy cockapoo and he’s: biting, scratching, whining but not barking at all so please make more videos like this.

  5. Is it weird that I get so overjoyed, that I feel like crying? Seeing these dogs being taught good behaviour not only so quickly, but also so peacefully. I’m a big proponent of peaceful parenting, and it makes me so happy to see this extending to our fur babies as well. Communication, genuineness, patience. It’s so beautiful. Thank you so much for this, Zak George.

    1. I cried too. There’s so much hard work that goes into training my puppy, it feels so good that these dogs are learning all this good behaviour. Can’t wait for my puppy to learn too!

  6. Fantastic video, once again. I love it when we get to see you in action not only with one dog but with many different dogs. And it’s also very helpful to see how other dog owners train their dogs so we can learn from their mistakes. Keep up the good work! And please include more dachshunds in your videos!!!!

  7. I started watching your videos early this morning when I found myself unable to sleep. In just 1 day, my dog Piper has completely transformed. She’s only 5 months old, and all my previous attempts to train her in any capacity have failed because I didn’t know what I was doing wrong. It’s 5pm here… we started with Sit, Watch Me, and Leave It at noon today, and she’s mastered them. I’m floored at how easy you have made this for me.

  8. Your videos are awesome! I have been watching them since I first got my chocolate lab puppy – he is 7 months now and so AWESOME! I’ve used your techniques from the beginning to train him in a loving, patient way… and it has so paid off! Thank you so much!

    1. hey can u tell me one thing like do you teach your dog 2-3 tricks in a day or just teach 1 trick until he learns it and then move on to other trick

  9. I’ve just stumbled upon these older videos. I really like how you give feedback to the owners. I learnt more about how I should conduct my training with my dog with these videos compared to the newer ones. 😁
