    1. This is what you do. Throw this liberal garabage out the window. Yes positive reinforcement is needed in training but things like chasing cats is better down with a shock collar. Turn the thing up, so everytime he chases the cat and you shock him, it stops him an he whimpers. I dont think you can get any dog that has herding notions to stop herding. My dog never hurts the cat but loves to herd it. The cat doesnt like it and is too old, 19 human yrs two weeks ago. Either way, it stopped and my dog still loves me to death

    2. Its because when you rtow something to a dog its small right but when a dog see a cat the cat is small right and the dog things that the cat is like a sibling like a toy and why the dog do that is because the dog sees the cat moving around like an ball or like an object

    1. My problem I both the kitten and puppy love to play wrestle but some times it’s too rough. I have been trying to train the puppy to leave the kitten alone but then the kitten will jump in the pups play pen and then the wrestling begins again. It’s a vicious cycle. Some times the pup listens to leave it but mostly ignores it. It’s very tiring and I would like to get them both to leave each other alone but be each other’s buddy.

  1. the cat runs. that inspires the dog to chase. the cat runs faster.
the main thing is, be patient. keep them apart and they’ll gradually
    get used to each other.

    1. @SpongeBob SquarePants my cat doesnt run much but walk and jumps and my puppy wants to play he already injured The cat..i keep seperating them so The cat has a chance to get away but. The cat just stands there btw The dog is an alaskan malamute an d The cat is a siamese with white paws ik The speacies dont matter

  2. Thank god for this! My pit bulls chase the calico kitten in my backyard and I hate it. They have a history of killing wild animals and it’s horrible

Edit- so you’re saying my dog wants to play with the cat?! Please help XD

  3. We’ve had a puppy for 2 weeks, out cat we’ve had for 6 years. Our cat is very patient but the puppy is driving him crazy and is crazy!!

    1. @FReSh JiVE ok hang on, you’re going to fight my argument with ONE specific cat breed. Thansk for proving my point, I did say “PRETTY MUCH every cat is lazy or calm.” Did I straight up say all?

    1. grabbing the neck is how they’d play with another puppy. It’s a dominance move. If you lay your puppy down and place your hand on his neck firmly but not harshly, he’ll submit in the “you win” game. Sadly, the cats don’t like that. going thru that right now too!

    2. @Lisa Dugan It’s not just that they don’t like it, it hurts! It’s very dangerous for dogs, especially with big and strong jaws, to get a hold of a cat’s neck!

  4. My dog barks incredibly loud when she sees my roommates cat. She sometimes barks at the door of the room that the cat is in whether she sees her or not. The bark is very high pitched & often scares the crap out of everybody.

  5. I adopted a 2 yr old German Shepherd recently and she doesn’t show aggression towards my cat but gets hyper when she sees the cat. The cat has also never been around a dog and just hides on top of the fridge from the dog.

    1. @Eliz Resendiz Oh ok thanks for the advice! I did a lot of research and he has a high prey drive but whenever he does chase them i immediately take him to time out. And I think it is a bit better than before but whenever he does chase them I make sure to not give him attention and he is ignoring them a bit more and dont worry, I think i got this!!! But i really hope he slowly ignores them from the leave it command. thanks for the help

    2. 4 month old boxer wants to play with our 3 male cats chasing them and holding them with his big ole heavy paw. We think he was just wanting to play, now he started to bite the back of their neck. So now that our boxer pup is getting bigger we need to stop this play. We tried the sit & stay and 1/2 the time it worked and know as im typing im thinking he probably just needs more Exercise

    3. @Lorri Bertin thats when you have to teach them when playing gets too rough. I havent done much research on this, but make sure if hes playing rough either hold the cats and walk away giving him NO attention whatsoever so he gets none of what he wants and whenever you let them play make sure that your boxer puppy isnt too energetic to the point where he doesnt injure them. Good luck with your boxer!

    4. Samee my puppy also bitted my other dog but i have 2 of my 4 pets away to a better home now they live inside an d happy, now i need to teach him how to stay for a long period and when the cat is around

  6. My dog has been getting a lot better! My kitten is very relaxed and lets him lick her, maybe plays a little. My dog is just so excited and wants to play. So getting him to just relax when she’s roaming has been tough. But he is slowly getting better, I am using a lot of these training tips, it’s just a slow uphill battle

  7. My dog is relaxed around cats until he starts randomly barking and getting all in the cats space. Granted he’s 5 months old. But that’s what I’m tryna work out.

  8. brought home a kitten this week and my dog and him are best friends! the issue is my dog is part heeler, so she has the impulse to herd things. all she wants to do is be near him and smother him with affection. we’re working on the idea of “if you behave, you get to be near kitten. if you misbehave, we remove you from the space he’s in.” it’s slowly working

  9. We just adopted a small rescue dog. He had been “cat tested” and passed at the facility. When we first got home he ignored the cat, but now he growls and tries to chase. The cat is freaked out. This video gives me hope. Thank you.

  10. We’ve a puppy 3 weeks now who chases the cats. The kitten seems to enjoy the fun. The “mama” cat HATES it and hisses, then runs away and glares once up high. The tiny old Siamese totally has the pup in check!

  11. My dog keeps chasing the cats whenever they start running. I try to block him, get his attention, but once the cat is running he wants to chase and won’t listen to anything or anyone. We’re losing our minds cause now the cats are not happy and are acting out.
