Now THAT’S what I’m talking about!! More “real” videos like this please. I feel we can learn the most from the not so pretty training sessions. 😉
It was real:) I think it’s important to feature dogs of various skill levels, including those who’ve had little training. Glad you liked it!
Can you make a video about dogs who bolt out the front door? Similar to the one with the German shepherd but maybe a dog who is wayyyy more eager to get out that door if you know what I mean. 😉
I loved this video. It showed the struggles that you encounter when training a rescue dog with issues.
@Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution I finally found a training video with a dog who wasn’t docile or already trained. I have a 14 week old Vizsla who is high energy and stubborn. I will be trying your method to see if she responds to the leash better.
So grateful that you use an untrained, unpolished dog. Chloe is an excellent candidate and showing the crazy shoe biting helps me learn how to mitigate the other extraneous issues without losing focus or giving up. You do amazing things! and show the true pace of progress in a real example. Thanks so much!
Both of our dogs need some work! They’ll walk next to me nicely for a few steps, and as soon as I praise them, they start to pull. Grendel wants to run after every distraction, and a leaf can be a distraction.
yes! I would love to see a video on how to teach a dog to leave things from off the ground and also to drop things that he may have picked up.
Zak this video is so valuable, because when people see videos with easy, easy to train dogs, and it doesn’t work the same way with their very active/stubborn dog, they just give up. This presents a scenario with a difficult dog to train, and it is so much more informative than a cleaner scenario, if you know what I mean. I also watched your video with Lena on walking on leash, and liked that too. I have a very hyper 8 mo old border collie, and this is exactly the visual examples I needed. (Lena looked like a border collie mix to me.)
Agreed! It’s good to see a video with a dog that is an uphill battle to train, instead of instantly getting it.
Exactly agreed
Mt dog is 3 now and never been on a leash.. except to go to vet.
I tried changing direction when my dog started pulling but now if I try as soon as I stop he knows and just does a circle around me. :/
Your 5 years older now
Chloe is so cute. She obviously wants training. Good job!
How Chloe got her groove back!
This is a lovely dog! She obviously is very trusting and has a high play drive. I laughed out loud when she made a game of untying Zak’s shoes. I would take her in a heartbeat!
needs work definite!! 1 second shes behind me and the other second shes in front of me pulling to try and smell something… 🐶
Same
Oml same

c! She drags me the whole time we’re on our walk
5 weeks ago I rescued a 7yr old black lab/shepard mix. He’s a very sweet boy who does have a tendency to pull but is making progress the more we walk the better it gets. Thanks for the great videos and support of rescue dogs. Sure feels more like he rescued me!
Just rescued my first dog a few weeks ago, and he’s been the greatest blessing in my life! He needs a little work, but this video has been a life saver.. thank you so much!
mine pulled me so hard i fell over.
Yea try to always be prepared.. or try a remote shock/ vibrate/beep collar
It’s almost happened to me too. The other day he went whipping around a corner before I was even out the door. Not only did I nearly fall, I scraped my arm on the front of an RV. It was enough to make a scab on my arm.
He’s not aware that he’s hurting me, but still.
@Nicole DeNier It’s usually helpful to keep a short leash with wild ones, helps offer less chances for them to do stuff like that.
That has happened to me before too lol. He got so excited one time he dragged me over my jalapeño plants 😂
Same I have two lab/pit mixes 65+ pounds I’m on the ground at least once every couple of weeks 🤦♀️
Nothing like a pit bull biting your shoes jumping all over you and dragging you down the block haha
It’s so refreshing to see a video where the dog wasn’t obviously trained before filming.
You did great. That fact that she’s an older dog and wasn’t trained that at a young age and is learning it so quickly in her adult ages is a great sign. Subscribing right now.
Dog is like “I’m not the expert here but it seems like we’re just walking in circles” 😂
My dog pulls and is CONSISTENT on going the way she wants to, when I try to turn around she’s like “nope I wanna go this way” lol I have to physically turn her around 😂
It’s amazing how well it works to just… turn around when a dog pulls on the leash. “Oh, you really wanna go this way? That’s a shame, then, because you pulled and that turns us right around every time. That’s just science.”
