  1. I wouldn’t say you’re a bad trainer but I wouldn’t recommend you to anyone that needs more than basic obedience. Maybe it’s your presentation but it seems like you’re against correcting bad behaviors.

    1. @Cyborg and that has it’s place, he does help people and dogs so I commend him for that. I just wouldn’t consider him someone who can handle any dog. Training puppies, no problem, but fixing aggression, not so much.

    2. You can absolutely address aggression etc with +R, you find the underlying cause of the behavior and work with the dog below threshold and build the dog on new positive experiences until the aggressive trigger isn’t a trigger anymore. But because you don’t push the dog to a dramatic behavior to look flashy as you fix it people assume the dog isn’t that bad. Victoria Stilwell also addresses behavioral issues with +R in it’s me or the dog. I took on a dog with food aggression and +R not only made him relaxed around food but even when he was blind later he didn’t care if the other dogs were walking by his bowl.

  2. Hi Zac, I have an idea for you. I do well with daily checklists. I think I need a 21 day basic training where I work with my pup say 20 minutes two times a day with set practice. Practice sit 10 times, check. Practice down 10 times, check. Play fetch five minutes, practice stay 10 times. Day 2: practice outside. Day 3: practice come five times, practice down five times and so on. Something to think about.
