Petco Dog Training EXPOSED…the

To understand the true intentions of PetCo’s recent launch of their #/StopTheShock campaign, we need to go back in time and look at the events that led up to yesterday.

This was originally a live-stream hosted by Canine Performance co-founder, Matt Hubble.

What do you all think about Petco's underlying motives with their campaign? Do you think they genuinely have the best interest of dogs in mind? Or is this a strategy deployed to help them accomplish their financial goals of 2021?

  1. So about two weeks into Florida’s pandemic “lockdown”, I went to PetSmart (its the only pet store within 25 miles) to get food and a tug for my dog. They had the Covid signs on the doors and stickers on the ground advocating social distancing and when I got to the toy aisle, there was three dogs and their owners practicing heel and a store employee who couldn’t have even been 18 overseeing the “training.” You’re right. PetSmart, Petco, they don’t care about the training bc if they did, they wouldn’t have a teenager running the show and all they care about is the money bc otherwise why keep group training classes going and have three owners training in the same aisle with customers? I complained and the manager agreed but said it was “corporates mandate.” I don’t know what they charge, but there’s no way the person i saw running that training was qualified to do it.

    1. I am one of these young trainers! Don’t knock someone for their age before you give them a shot! I take my job very seriously and love my career.❤🤗

  2. Wow, sounds like a pretty good plan. Affordable veterinary services allowing people who otherwise might not be able to afford it… 🐩🐕Responsible pet owners should applaud them.

  3. as Matt said below about a teenage trainer conducting group classes. I witness this too… & have actually felt compelled to help whe they dont what they r doing & watching a new puppy get ruined & quite frankly felt bad for the overwhelmed unexperienced trainer who was very out of his depth. i am sure they will figure this out at petco & recruit more experienced at some point. With this said…. balance & purely positive …ALL OF US MUAT BE AWARE OF THE CORPORATE POWER & what it could mean to our futures. Unless of course we want to be put out of biz & even find ouselves looking for a low paying petco trainer position.

  4. I don’t blame Petco / Petsmart for abandoning e-collars. Inexperienced owners often use shock collars in lieu of meeting their pet’s basic needs. “Want a blue heeler puppy but you don’t like effort or exercise? No problem, just shock the crap out of her from the comfort of your sofa.”

    1. As a petco employee, we sell invisible fences, and batteries, but not the ecollar, im happy pet stores aren’t openly selling them anymore because i believe they should only.be sold by trainers
