    1. Brilliant video. When I walk my 5 month old dog there is always a 5-10 minute struggle where he jumps up and bite the leash. I use treats and/or try to reset him to sit position but it only works sometimes. Any suggestions please ?

    2. Would like to see a training with a dog that really does jump on you…not one that’s already been trained not to, & only encouraged to jump for this demo!

  1. Just tried the stepping on lead trick and my 3 month old retrodoodle just bites into my thigh. Guess I have to solve biting before jumping.

    1. @Stephanie Reynolds this doesn’t work with my dog at all. I honestly feel like none of the puppy training videos are completely accurate. With a hyper stubborn teething puppy.

    2. This one did ok with my hyper 15 week old mini Aussie…. but NONE of their biting ones have worked. My pup bites when I grab his harness to move him when he doesn’t want to move. I can grab it ALL DAY when he isn’t in his stubborn mood. I so the “grab the. Yes and treat” 100 times per day…. he is great. But if he doesn’t want to move or he is EXHAUSTED (like last night) and I need him to move his body to his crate – so I have no choice but touch the harness) he snaps and bites at my hand….

  2. I have no idea how, but neither of my dogs ever jumped on people. Sure, they’re mini or small dogs, but they never did. Now I only have a shih tzu and she greets people by wagging her tail and staying at their feet, waiting to be pet

    1. Alisha, my boy put weight on too! See ‘Absolute Dogs’ where your whole dog’s feed is used ‘as treats’ for training.
      Read…..’ditch-the-bowl’ ….

  3. How do you teach your dog to generalize “off” with other people and not just you? My dog won’t jump up on me but gets SO excited when someone is at the door that she hops up and down on her back legs with her paws scratching their knees. She is too excited to respond to treats.

    1. This comment: yes. My second oldest doggo will not respond to treats and only jumps on other people. It takes many visits from that individual before he will stop. I haven’t seen a single useful video yet. If I find one that works I will come back here. If you figure it out let me know. My doggo also has problems with outside noises too.

    2. IKR! I have a very excited little Scottie boy. He’s about 17 months- He mobs our guests and me when the neighbor is at the fence! He just gets so excited! Yay!! Someone is here!!!! lol Im gonna try this with the lead-

    1. This is an excellent question and something I have struggled with for the last 10yrs. My pitbull the sweetest most loving, silly, happy dog in the world… She seems to know that I’m the boss and is good with me, she listens to my kids for the most part but not super consistently. She’s really bad with her dad tho and he actually encourages the crazy energy … like her level of excitement equates her love for him. It’s very frustrating, especially if Ive been working a lot and other family members are having more time with her, I come back to a dog that’s not so great at listening anymore and I feel like I’m starting all over again.

    2. Waiting to move out but sadly my 2 year old JoJo disappeared on December 8th(he was ran over and somebody took him I don’t even know if he’s ok) because my parents decided to leave him unsupervised on the street and I was busy doing finals. I came down at like 7pm (he went missing most likely in the afternoon) and I immediately searched everywhere for him and they were acting like I was making a scene on purpose. I never got to say goodbye and he poofed away or something. This will forever destroy me for the rest of my life yet they just want me to get a new dog and forget. I love you JoJo.

  4. So often trainers make videos with smart, relatively attentive dogs that are eager to learn/please. We have always had that kind of dog, so dog training came easy for us. A dear friend has recently asked me to occasionally dog sit, in my home, a dog that is so hyper, frantic really, that she seems to have zero attention span the moment the lead is released. Seems like she’s on the extreme end of the bell curve for hyperactivity – too frantic to readily make connections between her behavior and consequences. It would be helpful to see trainers work this this kind of dog, one that really challenges the trainer.

    1. that’s how my dog is, a goldendoodle whom is super hyperactive and though she is still young (about a year and a quarter) she needs to have some things fixed and i would love to see this. every time she is let off the leash she is crazy and has no attention span just like you mentioned.

    2. hi! i recommend you watching zak georges new dog series! he is training a german shepherd that is very high energy and needs a lot of training. this may help you a little bit.
