  1. Thats pretty neat. We definitely should try this out. Thank you for sharing. Sending respect and best wishes from your fun-loving chihuahua friends (Butterz and Minka) at 🌈 4EVAPUPS ❀

  2. Nice game for your dog. I do this without the crate. I train obedience at the same time. He have to sit and wait patiently while I hide the food. Then I release him by saying, ”seek!”

  3. I have incorporated this game into everyday training with my recently rescued GSDx. It has helped tremendously. I have him sit-stay patiently in the laundry as I hide the food and then release him with the command ‘Find it”. Training + fun games + food + use of his nose and brain = Happy dog and owner. Do you have any more games you’d recommend?

  4. I’m a little late to this video … my wife and I just put a deposit down on a Spring litter of German Shepherd puppies. Doing a ton of research and videos like this are excellent – I know it is a big commitment and will be a lot of work … but really excited to endeavor on this wonderful and challenging GSD adventure.
Name for the game : Hide and Go Treat.
I do something similar with my F2 Savannah cat. I have treats with me, I distract him with a treat and then hide somewhere in the house … make a small sound and when he finds me, praise and a treat. Again … thank you for the videos – great resource.

  5. Next put their kibble in a net bag and drag around the house; around the couch, tables, up the stairs, etc. Now they will learn tracking. then change scents. Use your bedroom pillow or used clothing.
