My dog is in her revolting stage right now. This video helped a lot thanks. 😀
Subha Basu mine too, hahahahha
Subhanjali Basu hey, what’s a revolting stage?
harsha shetty rebellious stage…like when we became teenagers
my huksy, bully and heeler LOVE beef heart when training. i get like 3 pounds for $5 at the butcher and bake it.
I like the videos were the dogs aren’t completely competent with the task they’re being asked to do, often the videos make training look really easy but i’m sure all of the dogs have done the task multiple times before the cameras even turned on, showing us a little bit of “misbehaviour” is super encouraging actually, as I can imagine training is not a frustration free process. showing Bruno going after the treats and play biting certainly made me feel more confident for my future puppy.
Remember, he took years of lessons to be a dog trainer
THat’s what’s so great about Zak’s videos: he does actual training, dealing in real time with untrained dogs’ real reactions to him, and shows how he deals with it. There is little learning if someone just demonstrates what their well-trained dog already knows.
@Jeanmarie Todd – I agree wholeheartedly. TV shows such as Cesar Milan’s, and similar shows in the UK (where I live), propagate an unrealistic idea of dog training that can be harmful. On these shows we see a family with a problem dog, and all of the issues are miraculously solved over night – usually by the trainer being ‘dominant’ over the dog. My mum bought into all this and so, when her puppy didn’t seem to ‘get it’ after a single training session she felt like a failure and thought the dog was either stupid or naughty. Training is a lifelong process, not a single event, and if an owner is unable, or unwilling, to put in the time and effort they might be better off with a cat.
I like how you said that the environment can be the third reward. I was having awful trouble training my senior Miniature Schnauzer to walk on a loose leash because he is extremely scent-oriented and has selective hearing when he’s sniffing.
After trying everything I could think of, I tried just getting him to walk next to me away from any interesting things like walls and lamposts and when he would walk nicely I’d say “Go sniff” and let him sniff as a reward, then call him back when I wanted him to stop. He walks brilliantly now!
Bruno’s lanky stage is adorable!
Could you do a training session with a standard poodle puppy or have you ever done it before?
Also I haven’t even finished the video and I can already tell it will be awesome like always.
I just got a German Shepherd, Apollo, and hes 4 months. This video was dropped at the perfect time for me! Thank you!
Goodluck! Haha
I’m getting a new puppy here in a few weeks and I’m watching these videos in preparation. I love Zak’s way of training
EnjoyTheMusic best thing you can do is prepare ahead ! Read all you can and watch as many of his videos as possible.

Hey
Zak you uploaded this at the perfect time, I just got a mastiff/great pyraneese puppy and puppy biting is happening often.
What’s a higher level of “severe play biting” because that’s what I’m dealing with. 😳 He’s crazyyyyyyy 😂
Great video. My dog Rocky is now a 14 month old Havanese. Thanks to Zac training him has been easy and rewarding. He’s learned so much it’s unbelievable. Fortunately we found Zac when Rocky was just 9 weeks old. Still working on play biting but he’s SO much better. Thanks Zac!!!
Everything my puppy knows we learned from these videos! 😀
Any other puppy Staffy owners on Youtube?
MY DOG ACTUALLY LISTENS NOW BECAUSE I DID WHAT YOU SAID
THANKS ☺️☺️☺️😁
It’s so cute how exited he gets when the dogs things right
They way you put the food into currency really made me see treats in a different way before I used to think everything was equal to dollar I’m gonna start doing what you do
When you told the dog to sit, my dog got up from playing and sat! 😂
i love how at 4:43 his fingers are all pruny from him lickin em 😂😭
I’m literally doing a marathon of your channel and taking tones of notes in my book dedicated to dog training, so I can do things correctly with my dog recently adopted 👌🏻🐕💕
The fact that this man can talk and explain things even when a dog is trying to get treats or biting him is amazing
