My dog has struggles with anxiety and reactivaty when exiting things, like guests, are kept from her… what should I do?
She is really heavy and noisy too.
If you can have your geust ignore her and you put her in a crate or behind a baby gate with a Kong so she can self soothe first. If that is still to much for her. Have your geust give her a cue like sit or down and then let them love on her if she starts to jump just let your geust walk in to her using body blocking to stop her from jumping on them. Your geust can also provide her with the Kong so she can interact safely with them .
This is a great idea! I have 2 large excited dogs so I will try leaving them in the hallway next time and distract with treats when they settle down. Will bring them out with leashes to control the jumping. 👍
