Thank you so much for this! Since my comment, I have taken a step back and let him take his time sniffing around and exploring the world when we walk. The pulling is pretty moderate right now but before I got heated I told myself that he is still a pup and reminded myself to reward the behavior I liked, such as when he would look to me and walk nicely with me.
I also sat my family down and I believe we came to a conclusion on a schedule that we can all follow, and simple rules so that we can set him up for success. I wish we could have gotten to this point from the start, but hey, no time like the present!
Once again, thank you Zak. You truly do wonders for dogs and their owners.
PS. I love the attic, looks like such a nice space!
Remember, every rescue dog basically is ia “start-over.” Dogs are resilient. They’ll appreciate the shift in training and be very happy doggos indeed!
