    1. Hi there, Ezaz Khan Rommel! Yes, the flashlight will work on black nails as well. It is a lot harder to see the quick though, so you need to hold the flashlight a little closer. You will see that the nail is a little more opaque where there is no quick. It’s really important that you don’t cut too much off until you’re comfortable with visualizing the “safe to cut” area. So be conservative with your first couple of rounds of clipping! Thanks for watching! ~Ken

  1. I can’t wait to try these! I have a Yorkie and I always cut his paw hair to trim his nails and he looks so dumb, but to me, I’d rather him look dumb than hurt him by cutting the quick. Hopefully with the tricks he can have his nails cut and still look good. Thank you!!

  2. Could you please add to the description a link to that video mentioned toward the end, the link within the video no longer works. The one about how to trim a fussy dog’s nails. Thanks!

  3. Half the time it takes to clip my dogs nails is spent holding his foot fur back and locating his nails. I’m going to try that orange netting hack.

    1. @XxlildramaxX ha! I have a 18 lbs miniature schnauzer who thinks she is a German Shepard! Also threatens with complete annihilation when I try to cut her nails!

  4. You can also use an old shower sponge/loofah. Just cut a piece off and you have perfectly good netted material to use. I also use the loofah mesh to wash my bras, I tie knots in each end and it saves my bra from getting snagged on my other clothes!

  5. Hi Ken, Our dog has hairy toes and black toes. The last vet that trimmed them had a bit of blood on her quick. She literally shakes when she has to have them done.
