  1. Thank you Ken, puppy training can feel like banging my head against a wall sometimes. I just have to remember to be patient & consistent, success is incremental!

  2. Our puppy does so well for a few days then goes inside the next day. Sometimes he goes potty outside then 5 min. Later goes on the carpet

    1. What if you don’t use a crate? I have a 4 month old, apparently she goes to the balcony earlier than I take her out to the spot where I want her to pee. Today I realized that when i come from upstairs she get really excited and after q little while she pees again. I figured that’s a new sign. Another thing I’m really struggling with is the biting and jumping on my kids.

  3. One thing I hate about the Internet is people bragging about having their puppy house trained in 2weeks.
It defeats everyone dealing with different environment and different pup personality/health/breed.

    1. I got my puppy at 7 months and she took FOREVER to be potty trained, like a whole month at least. But then one day she just got it, and ever since there have been no accidents EVER! if your dog is taking longer, don’t worry, they’ll get it eventually.

    2. Yes omg! I feel like a horrible owner because literally everyone else manages to potty train their dog and have their dog reliable enough to have lots of freedom indoors when my 9 month old pup has just started to regress with his potty training again…he’s a smart boy but potty training has got to be learned in a different part of the brain than wherever commands etc are learned because he’s almost completely reliable enough to be off leash his recall is so good and yet even with properly scheduled potty breaks, we’re still being left in the dust…

  4. House line is a game changer! We’re still not quite there, I just missed one because I took my eyes off her to have a swig of water. I knew it was coming so I should’ve known better.

  5. My 14 yr old dog just stares at me when she wants something like food or to go potty outside. She doesn’t whine or beg, just gives me an unflinching stare until I do whatever she wants. I suppose we both have one another trained pretty well.

  6. I started with pads. But then I just watched the puppy. Everytime I saw her sniffing around on the floor, I scooped her up and brought her outside. As soon as she peed or pooped, I praised her and rewarded her with a treat. After a week, no more accidents.

    1. @Stephania M yeah same here please I’ve had 2 corgi /aussie breads for about 2 months now and they’ve only peed outside twice and never poop out there they keep playing outside then go on the house I have a carpet scrubber too I scrubbed my carpet and still nothing I’m gonna get a repellent for my carpet and just continue trying wish me luck

    2. @Branden Wilson I have a lab and he hasn’t been able to poop outside at all ( it’s been 3 weeks and nothing) but as soon as we go inside he decides to

    3. @Demetra Pantelidi Ya I wish I could get there. It’s 2 weeks now and still won’t go ok the pad. I can’t constantly watch our puppy either to see when she starts sniffing around. It just happens a lot and can’t catch her.

  7. What if they purposely hold it (even for hours if u put them in the crate) so that they don’t have to pee in the pad. But they use the pee pad when they’re in the crate at night
Teaching him indoors till he’s done with his injections/shots

  8. HELPPP!!! Accidentally trained my dog to only pee on the pee pads – I’ve tried taking her outside, but she’ll legit wait until she’s back inside to pee on them again 🙁

    1. Maybe take a pad and put it in a certain spot outside??? It’s a lot of work but since she only pees on pads rn that could help introduce her to peeing outside and that it’s okay. And then after awhile maybe take away the pads and lead her to the same spot outside and see what she does. Just a suggestion 🙂

    2. I’ve heard moving the pad progressively towards the door, then put the pad outside the door, then remove it completely, so they will go outside. (Didn’t try this myself, never used pads)

    1. Thanks for your candor…It helps me know I’m not alone…was beginning to wonder if I was the only new puppy owner that couldn’t mentally handle it🤔😅🙃
Was getting worried about myself not to mention exhastec

    2. Omg i have a Pomsky and i am on the struggle bus. She spends most of her time leashed bc she will not tell me when she has to go. It’s super frustrating. I have to take her out or I’m mopping up pee.

  9. My dogs know what “outside” means and they get really excited. One of them comes and barks when he needs out, but the other one just pees… 😫

  10. I got my Newfoundland pup 3 weeks ago and she’s going on 12 weeks old. Right now I’m struggling to get her from sitting under the chair in my room barking non stop. Other than that she is a good good dog.. just frustrating

  11. Pee pads are the worst thing ever, pup was learning just to pee inside, i soon learned her signs for when she needed to toilet and put her outside then gave her a treat for being a good girl, so far so good🤞
