  1. I live in Texas where we will go weeks straight in the summer of triple digit heat, so the window for taking my dog out for 20+ minute walks is like 2 am – 9 am. My dog also has a black coat, so I have to be especially careful on sunny days.

  2. Understand the environment, donā€™t label it. Animals in the environment arenā€™t ā€œdangerousā€ for existing. Theyā€™re dangerous in response to certain stimuli, including how your dog responds to them. When in doubt, itā€™s too dangerous.

  3. Stopped exercise my dogs outside of a fenced areas because of strays that are in our neighborhood that has mauled other dogs in our area. It is okay to only exercise your dog indoors especially with the amount of dangerous you can encounter. I am not willing to work on having a none reactive dog just for one walk to put me back at the starting point. Not to mention muggers and so on. Was mugged in 2020 just before COVID and having to rebuild the trust between men and my dog has been a 3year project.

  4. You should never use bear spray on bears it’s negative reinforcement. Instead you should think of more positive ways to stop a bear attack.

  5. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SPRAY THING…Then you will have a MAD bear…50 caliber or better MIGHT save your life if bear determined to get you
