    1. Should you use a collar or a harness for your dog? Which type of collar should you use? 🤔

  1. I use my proficiency bonus for my animal handling and then speak with animals spell to communicate that my Maple needs to go potty.

Back to Baulders Gate 3 I go.

  2. As my puppy still is growing I do use a harness. It doesn’t quite fit well and puppy.gets tangled. But.i am learning to keep it above him.

  3. I generally use a harness. She settles into loose-leash walking very quickly into a walk, and we’ll keep working on being calm for walks start-to-finish.

  4. I got a chi a chiweenie and a yorkie/Aussie mix. Everyone’s on a harness. And we train with the harness as well. Collapsing tracheas and all that…. We use the collars for tags….

  5. Collar and harness. I used to use just a harness but one day I’d unknowingly clipped her leash to her tag ring instead of her harness ring….POP! and she was free. My hair went grey that day.
So when out I put a collar on her with her tags on that now

  6. We’ve primarily used the Blue-9 harness for the first 2 years of our dog’s life. We just started transitioning him to some shorter walks on a martingale collar (he has a narrow head) and long line+harness the rest of the time. I think we are starting to reach a nice balance between the two!

  7. My dog always has a collar on and we use it for quick out-and-pee’s, to go to the car and such. For longer walks, bicycling and such activities I prefer harness.

  8. My dog is sooooo strong that he broke 3 harnesses… so, I’m working with him using a collar. I don’t pop the leash really hard, it’s just a fast, loose, short, kind of wavy movement of the leash, so he feels it and looks at me, and he comes back to my side. He’s doing a lot better and we both enjoy our walks now. He was a bit too reactive to other dogs, but he is doing a lot better

  9. We used to use a choke chain on our old dog. But his fur was so darned long and THICk, it was the only thing that would go around his neck, hold his tags and not interfere with his fur. We didn’t use it as a correction tool, and often would clip the leash on the ‘inner’ loop (the one that didn’t pull tighter) instead. That being said. . .it did also get pulled tight way too often and I’d think twice about using it again. (That was when I was a child)
With my current dog, I started out with flat collars for her, then moved on to a harness once she ‘outgrew’ needing her head collar/gentle leader thing. I put her back to the collar and she still tended to choke herself, so I moved onto the harness which worked much better. Then I started hearing about how much danger/damage a dog can do to its neck with collars getting caught, etc, that I ended up just using a harness, with no collar. It does mean she’s ‘naked’ inside the house, but her tags are on her harness (she’s not generally a runner). Unfortunately, even with the flat collars, people still tend to grab them and drag on the dog’s neck. I find at least with the harness, if someone does that, thety’re not going to harm her.

  10. Harness now. We used harness when we got our pup. And most youtubers said throw away the harness cause its garbage, which we did and used collar instead. After a year, we are now back on using harness as I feel better not hurting my little dog when we go outside.
