  2. One of my pet peeves is when other dog owners stop and make their dogs sit and watch as other dogs are passing by on the sidewalk. What the hell did you stop for lol? Keep walking 😂

    1. Oh 🙁 I do that. But it is cause sometimes my dog gets too excited to say hi to the other dog that he starts to pull to hard and ignores food and pets. He is almost chooking, and I’ve seen some other owners with scared or judgy looks as he looks like he is trying to attack their dogs. So I make him sit as at least he is not hurting himself and just can calmly watch the other dog pass by and not scared the owners and their dogs

    2. I have to do that or my chihuahua gets overly excited by large dogs. She will totally sit there nicely but if we’re walking she goes crazy. I’m not sure why that bothers you though as it’s not affecting you or your dog training.

    3. I find it important to use these opportunities to work on obedience with the distraction. Image being at a store and stoping with your dog to look at something. You shouldn’t be required to “keep walking” when someone comes your way. You should be able to have your dog remain calm and obedient. So yes, people should use these opportunities to stop and practice obedience and focusing on the handler. Now if your dog is reactive the of course back up and find that distance where your dog will focus on you and remain mostly calm.

    4. That’s is smart of the dog owner . Especially if they have a trained dog who listens and your dog is the opposite, the walk is supposed to be peaceful for them .

  3. Help, my dog sometimes doesn’t want to go anywhere. She loves getting to the field or wherever, but the first few steps are difficult. I give her a she gets going. What’s happening here
