  1. My 2.5 year old labradoodle girl started barking when people come into our property or anywhere else feels safe, like our cabin or my friends places. Even my roommate and my neighbour, which she loves. I am the only person she doesn’t bark at. She is a nervous rescue dog. I don’t know how to make her stop, I have tried the shhh sound (which calms her down), and telling her to do something else, like sit or lay down or focus on me, tried rewarding her for being quiet, and tried ignoring it. Nothing helped. Maybe I am too impatient. 😂

  2. I couldn’t find a video that was recent about how to get a dog over her fears so I am commenting here. My dog is afraid of all types of cars, toy cars, large cars and hot wheels. I don’t know how to get her to stop being afraid. Please help me

    1. How old is she? If a puppy she could be going through a fear period. Is she rescue?
Also just tons of positive socialization. Keep treats with you and try to make everything positive.

    2. She is twelve weeks old from a shelter. She was from backyard breeder who had too many dogs and was kicked out of the house. She isn’t afraid of anything else besides cars

    3. Poor baby. I have one idea that might be worth trying. I would start with toy cars and gradually get her closer to one. And if the toy leaves a trail of treats behind it that might help 😉. When you can get her close enough to smell it, you could smear the toy with something yummy and smelly.
I had a dog once who was afraid of anything coloured black so my friend and I blew up a black bin liner and played balloons with it. He was also afraid of statues and he wouldn’t pass a statue unless I patted it first.
My current dog had a fear of the sound of 2 metals knocking against each other which made her afraid of so many things when she was little including not eating out of a metal bowl when her collar/lead attachment knocked against it. She would cower and tremble at the sound. She’s 4 now and is only afraid of big noisy trucks which we rarely see so I haven’t had much opportunity to work on that one.

  3. Marzieh barks when she thinks people are coming to the house. This is normal for dogs to do but one does want them to stop. So I tell her “thank you” (as if I mean it) which often stops her barking and if she continues, I calmly tell her it’s not a problem.
I don’t bother with one word commands in these situations because dogs pick up on feelings which are easier to express in sentences even though they probably don’t understand the words.

  4. My dog barks at dogs when she wants to play. I’m still working on the quiet command, but boy is it hard to get her to stop yelling at her friends.

  5. I follow a lot of trainers including e collar trainers and I see positives from all sides. My puppy used to bark at people running in the morning, and I started having her sit and giving her own food as treats while she was in a nice sit stay till a runner passed, did that for 5 days in all sorts of places around where I live and months later till now she doesn’t bark anymore. That worked way much better than whipping her leash etc

  6. My neighbors dog barks non stop. Because they don’t do anything with her. She basically just sits around all day. And barks at anything and everything! Poor dog 😢
