  1. So glad I found your videos more than 3 years ago. Every time I talk to anyone who asks “how is your dog so well behaved?” I refer them straight to your Chanel! 😊
We (wrongly) gave up on stopping our whippet from jumping up when meeting new people. We learnt the right technique but the frustrating thing was training the other humans to follow the instructions when they met. The consistency was never there, and through covid was infrequent.

    1. I have the same issue fortunately I have a few people who agree to pausing a moment to let me work with her on it. But some people are just like “no its fine I dont mind!” And I appreciate how chill they are but I DO mind cause I know too many people that it either scares or annoys and its kinda embarassing when she does it to strangers so Id like to someday get her consistently staying on all 4s around new people😅

    1. There’s is a problem.tho with so many dogs being euthanized because of their behavior they can’t get adopted so the dog daddy is actually helping save their lives. Of course if it’s not necessary than put in the work do it right but don’t knock the man for saving lives

    2. Obviously you have only watched shorts of the dog daddy or just listen to other people but before you make judgements maybe you should go to a class and see him in action i have very trumatised rescue dogs and i can tell you that treat training does not work in these cases and the dog daddy has saved thousands of dogs around the world that were going to be killed he also goes into shelters to help dogs that would normally be murdered for behavioral problems and helps them get adopted so do your research before you judge people

  2. My dog is a sensitive soul, as am I, I can’t imagine doing anything that causes fear. I yelled at him once and he was so scared. I felt horrible.

    1. @Mia Frisk DogDaddy is SUPER harsh on the dogs… Would NOT recommend him. There are multiple videos of him choking small dogs by pulling them in the air with their leash. Super easy way to collapse their trachea

    2. He uses FEAR to control dogs, you can see them visibly shaking, panting, flattening or holding ears back, avoiding direct eye contact, tucking in or lowering tail.

    1. because his methods dont work with truly agressive/reactive dogs or it requires and unrealistic and unachievable amount of work for the ordinary person. He can run his mouth when its his literal JOB to work on his dogs…and we have yet to see him work with a truly agressive out of control dog. It sure does work for slightly reactive puppies and non working breeds

  3. And when they are getting a comment critizising their methodes or prong collars these “dog trainers” get misbehaved and some even aggressive . The way they treat dogs they are also threating humans .

    1. because people think prong collars are torture devices. Ive literally put it on my own neck and while its uncomfortable its far from what people think it is when used correctly.

  4. I’m tired of it too. Some are more about their need for power and masculinity than what is best for dogs. I would never recommend them, but I recommend YOU all the time ❤. Don’t worry about them. You will not likely change their twisted minds. Keep doing what you are doing! You rock!

  5. I am sick and tired of trainers, who don’t ever think there is a need to hold a dog accountable when the dog knows exactly what you’re asking for, but just doesn’t want to do it. I understand positive training and positive reinforcement but I also understand operant conditioning. The same way you wouldn’t follow your kid around all day, long with a bunch of freaking M&Ms, only to ask them to clean their room and have them give you the finger… There comes a point where if your dog ignores you, you need to hold them accountable. The same way you would take away your kids iPhone if they didn’t clean their room when you ask them. I love your videos, but not everything is a rose garden, and that includes dog behavior. I completely believe in positive training, but in the world of dog training, it’s become so political that even something as simple as withholding, a treat or withholding a reward has become punishment, and therefore not acceptable. That’s freaking ridiculous. If you tell your kid to clean their room, and if they clean their room, you’ll go get ice cream for them.… The kid understands if they don’t clean their room they don’t get freaking ice cream. A dog can understand and learn the same way. positive training definitely has its place but it’s really annoying to me when people don’t want to train their dogs using operant conditioning and the four quadrants. It’s amazing how well that works. But I suppose we can still follow our children around with a pocket full of M&Ms, and never reprimand them when they do anything wrong.

    1. @Lisa Outinen this is very true. I’m not saying that dealing with your children has to be harsh, but there has to be a way to hold them accountable. That was my point.

    2. @Tiffane Coe I think all kids and dogs are different. I don’t think it’s a one size fits all take on this. My dog would shut down with aversive training methods.

  6. I’ve learned many things off this channel and Zak and Victoria Stilwell are the only ones that I would consider ever getting advice from. Methods and advice Perfectly aligns with my dog training school curriculum. I side with Zak on this one.

I once tried to get some side work at a “dog training” place and one of the trainers told me that they had NO education to do what they do and that he only really looked up on “TikTok” on how to train his dogs and his place was using E-collars to train. Unbelievable.

  7. I appreciate your approach and glad I found you, as I have a 7 month old puppy. Never been a fan of harsh and demeaning tactics. God bless!!!

  8. My 1 husky is super sweet and doesn’t even like raised voices. She is very food motivated though and that makes her easily trainable. My other husky is NOT food motivated, I spent the 1st year being so frustrated with trying to train her and legit NOTHING seemed to work, however I found she responded super well to just positive reinforcement. She liked praise and pets and soft talking. We have a much better relationship now.

  9. I’m so glad I’ve found your channel . We just got a pup and I was able to start training him without frustration. I’ve only had him one week and I walked him to his crate and he got in willingly no barking. I feel accomplished.
