    1. How do you train a puppy to lessen the pressure of his bite, and to stop clawing you especially when he’s super excited? Often he thinks i’m playing with him when i’m just fixing my hair and he starts pouncing and biting at my arm or scratching it.

  1. I think anything documenting how you started to leave her alone for long periods of time would be helpful and how to go about it properly and lessening the chance of separation anxiety, think that’s one of the things that worried me the most with my puppy

    1. I’m going to adopt a puppy very soon. We thought it was good to raise our puppy now since we will be home for a long amount of time, just enough so we can train her out of separation anxiety if she has it and so she will be old enough to be left home alone for longer amounts of time

  2. This series is brilliant. It takes all the individual videos and everything in the first book, and combines them! Finally we can see all the different training exercises in real situations happening when you use them on one dog. I love it <3

  3. Hi Zach and Bree, you mentioned you wouldn’t want to make us wait through all of the crying during the crate training, but you have no idea how valuable it is to see it played out in real life. Reading books and watching other videos where they show 15 seconds of crying does not give us an idea of what it really should look like. I really appreciated that you showed it for a long time and that you showed the timer for how long it went on for. I also like that you showed your distance from her because when I was trying to crate train my puppy, I sat right outside of his cage and he got increasingly frantic. I was so worried about traumatizing him, I ended up giving up on crate training altogether, because I didn’t ever get a chance to really see it done in real life and I had no concept of how many minutes I should wait. So, thank you. I hope you continue to show more crate training as the days go on so I can get a sense of how long is normal for the dog to cry for as the days go on. Thank you, from Idaho.

  4. As a dog groomer, I just have to say THANK YOU for showing your viewers that they should get their new puppies used to the bathing, nail trimming, and teeth brushing process early! It really works, and it definitely helps dog owners in the long run when their adult dogs don’t stress out every 3-4 weeks when they need their nails clipped! 👍🏻

  5. This is so helpful for anyone who is about to bring their puppy home. You are a true expert. To listen to her vocal expressions, to follow her tiniest reactions to surroundings, to interpret her body language.. that’s such an amazing thing. I am learning and loving it. Inertia is a natural, so smart and cute

  6. Zak- how about a video about what those at home during this pandemic with a new dog should do to prepare it for when we all return to work.

  7. Summary Girl:
    Steps:
    1. Acclamate puppy to the outside place to go potty
    2. Prepare living space (crate and sectioned off area for potty, lined with pee pads)
Why Train Your Dog To Use Pads?
    – Bad Weather
    – Apartment Living
    – Travelling and More!
    Sound Desensitization –
If your puppy had problems with sleep you will most likely be sleeping near them so you can do a bit of sound desensitization and Clicker Training with something that might make loud noise eg. Blow-up mattress.
Remember! The clicker means: “Good dog! You’ve earned a treat!
When your puppy sleeps make don’t try to be quiet but don’t overwhelm them. Just encourage them to be relaxed and sleep when it is noisy.

    Pet – to – Pet Introduction –
Take Your Time. Don’t rush into the introduction. All you want to do know is just show them that there is another animal by walking past or something like that. Know your pets as well. If they are a bit nervous for example be calm, relaxed and patient with the introduction process.
    Exercise –
    Mornings:
Have a nice puppy play session with toys and “fetch”. Not to much though because they are just getting used to it. Enjoy the time playing and bonding with your pup. Make sure you have regular exercise.
    Puppy Anxiety –
Puppy anxiety is very normal. Allow them to relax by themselves. Set a timer for when there anxious. You do not have to reward when they settle down naturally and don’t feel guilty when they whine (even though it’s hard). If you check of all the boxes like their not hungry or need exercise don’t feel bad.
Training for Baths, Nail Trimming and Toothbrushing –
Take it slowly when introducing these things to your puppy/dog. Go at there pace and stop if they start to get stressed because that will only set you back if you continue. Use positive reinforcement to build up a positive association with these activities.
Remember! Always start this training early. Do not see that you have to bathe them a say “Well, we’ll see how it goes”. It probably won’t end well.
    Training –
To prevent your pup from building up bad behaviours be one step ahead of them and intercept them from biting on the table leg for example. When they turn there attention to you instead of doing it reward them (use clicker if desired).
    Hope this helps 🙂
