  1. The recall can be a life saver. Thats all we do is build that recall when working with our dogs. The bond begins to build more if the recall is strong. We use toys to help motivate and keep the dogs on us and build that recall.

    1. The ecollar was on a level one. He was shaking his head because it feels different when placed in different areas on his neck. Level one is barley anything. The sport dog setting my ecollar is on has 7 settings and I can put them all on my neck without extreme discomfort. A one is barely anything. He’s just not used to the constant stim when recalling. Most important thing is that he’s never shut down and loves to put it on!

    1. Depends on your strong hand, if you’re a righty, heeling on the left side leaves your right hand free to do whatever you need to do. Just preference.

  2. Thank you for showing us clips of clients handling their dog. I tend to make those small mistakes that I’d never notice. the proofing and/or troubleshooting was helpful

  3. This is so interesting, I never thought about the e collar as a way to help dogs understand they need to follow through with commands. Currently stuck in re commanding my dog over and over because he will keep breaking a command!

    1. Why would a form of communication not be utilized by good trainers? Sure if you are constantly having to rely on the tool for everything then you have a problem, but when used and implemented correctly it will no longer be needed, though once again, even if you don’t need it, the e collar is a very versatile form of communication that cannot be replicated by anything else, so why would you want to sever that communication?

    1. Hmmmm, all the real dog trainers that I know of that have better results than other real dog trainers are using e-collars and prong collars. Hmmmmmm, I wonder why.

  4. How do you enforce and have accountability when your dog doesn’t obey? My 8 month old doodle does great when we train one-on-one. Really good with sit, stay, come, heel, speak, and shake paw. But when we have playdates with neighbor dogs, he gets really excited and doesn’t listen when I call him back to me. Suggestions, ideas? I don’t use e-collar, BTW.

    1. When training recall make sure you have different distraction levels. But anyway U should keep the leash on and call him/her and if dog doesn’t come pull the leash toward you and reward dog for coming
