    1. I have a question about training. — I have a Miniature Schnauzer, and I need help with getting him to not bite on our fingers and toes. He follows commands well with sit, stay, shake. But will not stop nibbling on fingers and toes. He was born March 14th. 2 1/2 months old.

    2. So… you might remember from previous posts that my family has two German shepherd mixes… would it be dumb to bring a Malinios rescue into that mix? Also, there’s a Bully/Ausie/Pyrenees mix at my local shelter who is nearly unadoptable due to indoors overprotection. So you have any tips? He’s 3 years old and I would hate to see him spend the rest of his life in a shelter!

    3. I have 2 Border Collies. They heel well on lead, and follow commands well off lead. I am working on keeping them in a close heel when off lead. It is hard to keep them close and attentive, they tend to drift…

    1. New puppy and we are trying to train her not to jump on people but she will only listen if there is treats, as soon as the treats go away she instantly jumps on them again. What’s the best way to fix this?

    2. How to teach a dog not to escape the backyard… I still have issues with that… We have fixed the fence, but our dog still finds a way out. He jumps too high!!!

    3. Hi Zak, can you do training with a dog who gets afraid of random objects, or sounds, or places. i.e., We can walk the same path every day and suddenly has a nervous reaction to go down a street…tail tucked, lip licking and refuses to go down the street…the next day no problem.

  1. When are you going to do a podcast with Robert Cabral??? $1000 to charity seems fair buddy. From my experience with PO training, it works about 50% of the time, mostly in very monitored and carefully managed environments.

  2. My huskies are brother and sister but 1 yr apart. The older husky is female. We were hoping that the older dog would “help train” her little brother but seems to be regressing rather than helping. For example her recall is worse and also she won’t fetch anymore. Any thoughts on how to manage this? Any hints for training 2 dogs in 1 home.

  3. I notice that you always use flat leads of varying lengths. I’ve always had Papillons who are very small so used retractable leashes which have worked very well to either keep them close or allow them more freedom. Do you have a reason for your preference? I’m picking up my puppy on Sunday and want to get it right this time as much as I can, using your training methods.

  4. I would LOVE to learn about tips and tricks for traveling with a very small dog… things that will keep him safe, healthy, and entertained.

  5. Hi Zack, Love your videos! Could you address the saying “Little dogs think they are big dogs and that’s why they bark?” My 6 lbs 18 month old Chi-Whip thinks she has to bark at every loud noise or anyone on the sidewalk 😢
Have been using your positive training & it’s slowly working 😊

  6. I would love some manners training ideas i could do for my large dog – so people are less scared to meet him. He loves people but they are often scared of him because of his breed and size. So far we’ve taught him to sit when people approach And he’s been doing much better about not jumping up when they greet him in an excited manner. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

  7. My border collie CAN be reactive when a stranger approaches within 5-10 feet. Especially if we are sitting. Reactivity manifests as standing up, body going stiff, warning barks, lunging8ng and if all fails to repel the stranger she can go for thier ankles of lower leg. This can all happen in 1 or 2 seconds. Sometime I can divert her attention with treats, obedience tasks, but it can happen fast and I am sometime not aware of the approach until reactivity has started. And tips to help change the behavior? I only use positive reinforcement yet there are times I have to pull her back for safety.

  8. My dog whines in the car all the time. It’s when the car is in motion. When I stop at a stoplight, he stops. Sitting or laying down and front seat or very back in the crate, he still whines. When we take longer trips he does eventually stop but that’s 30 minutes in or longer and when we stop it starts the process over again. It seems like it’s excitement. He has no issue getting in the vehicle. He rides in the vehicle with me the majority of the time.

  9. Thank you Zak for all your help! I learned so much as a first time dog owner when I had my puppy (standard Aussie) 3 yrs ago! I follow you on YouTube as well! 🙏

  10. Would love to know about training 2 puppies at once. We brought home brother puppies. Trying to teach them with your videos (thank you!) but they are starting to get competitive, one is jealous of everything the other has and any attention he gets. And I’m starting to worry that their super cute “wrestling” is getting to look more dangerous, like fighting where one could get hurt! There are no videos I can find on the issues dog owners face when they bring home more then one puppy.

  11. Any advice on interactions between dogs and toddlers? My mini poodle is great with toddlers for the first part of the visit but turns into a crumugedy old man with warning bark (and sometimes lunges!) at the toddlers if they get too excited while playing or squeal too loudly. We plan to be babysitting often and feel like we need to do something so our nieces and nephews don’t grow up being afraid of dogs.
