  1. And share kikopup channel as often as possible. I carry a card with youtube trainers to hand out when out for people in need of training help. Once she gets her channel viewed enough it can make her money. Share, share, share!

  2. My dog understands leave it. For most things I tell her to leave, she does. The garbage can us another story though. I tell her to leave it and she will walk away from it. Problem is that the temptation is too great and she keeps returning to it. At about the third trip to the trash can, she ignores my leave it, pulls the can down and runs off with some piece of paper. How do I correct this behavior?

  3. Hi I have a question. I taught this to my dog and so now she is not tempted by the treats and so I cannot use this as a lure. Am I doing something wrong? 😐 Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

  4. @lejaffa3 Very good question! I suggest you teach your dog to target your hand. Targeting is a great way to position a dog. Somewhere on here, Kikopup has a video on teaching your dog to touch the palm of your hand. I’m afraid you will have to scroll through all her videos to find it. Good Luck!

  5. @bravescatz That’s a great idea, making a card with her channel link on it! I recommend her videos to a lot of people, and I think handing out cards would be a super idea!

  6. At doggie class today, the trainer told us to growl at the dog when it went for the food (she had never done this exerciser before). I refused to do it, so she did it and my dog went absolutely nuts and almost lunged at her.
Ashamed that I paid 85$ for this crappie doggie class.

  7. @Pandaraze and Michellenn93
The sad part about dog trainers is that this is what they are taught in classes..
I see even today dog trainers who are taking or took classes, and are taught to use corrections for everything.

  8. Doesn’t the dog get confused when you allow her to lick the treat while your luring her into positions from the default leave it lesson where you want her to stop mugging the treat?????

  9. We rescued a Border/Aussie and she needs and wants training time, these videos are fantastic!!  We believe in only reward training, not punitive.  Love these!!

  10. Does it count for a click if my puppy lays down instead of backing away? He’s used to our game of me slowly putting a treat between his paws as we make eye contact and I can tell he thinks that is what’s going on

    1. sure! You can reinforce approximations. So if you want leave it to mean walk around the area and ignore the thing on the ground (rabbit poop or whatever), then you can build on it- mark the down but then encourage the puppy in the opposite direction to come to you to get the treat. then you can mark and feed multiple times for staying away, before then approaching the distraction and marking the puppy ignoring it when moving and in other positions, so leave it doesnt mean to always lay down
