Super, thank you so much Emily. Since our yard isn’t fenced in (but far from a road) I love the idea of a small rope close to the ground that you show. Might be a good one to put at the passage between the trees that leads to our neighbours house. Thanks !
Great concept, and Trisch picked it up so quickly! Going to watch the second part now 🙂
You are such a great teacher, even electronically! You have my utmost respect and gratitude for what you offer to us all, both four-leggers and two-leggers.
Thank you , Emily
Awesome video Emily! I have a barrier technique using little orange cones, but I’m going to try this technique with my Siberian Husky and see how it works for her. THanks! 🙂
Thank you again, for your generosity, your talent, and your compassion for all dogs who will be helped by all your videos.
Good job, Emily! We learned this in the Karen Pryor Academy and I have been using this technique with my clients’ dogs.
I am so glad you finally did this video. I have been waiting to teach Roxy this as soon as you did this tutorial-thanks
How many times a day should you practice this behavior to get results as soon as possible? How many minutes should the sessions be for this behavior? My dog became tired and laid down after about ten minutes, though it was late at night.
Thank you so much for these tutorials! They’re great!
my favorite trainer so far! (and dr ian dunbar). Im so grateful for these videos!! I am definitely going to get the reactivity DVD!! my dog is so much happier and less confused and i am loads calmer and happier myself! these videos have encouraged me to work with my dogs everyday. thank you!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Trainers like this are sharp! They understand dog behavior so well. Thanks for this video series.
Thank you for this video! I’m getting a cavapoo puppy soon and once she begins to understand the concept of Waiting, Staying and Recall, I will start working on boundary training.
Thank you so much for the video!! We’ll use this on our new puppy! 🙂
finally someone actually showing how to train the dog and not just talking about it
Thank you! this is key info for training outside barriers, where their movement is encouraged within an area, not staying in one spot.
Amazing! We’re teaching our aussie pup that she’s not allowed in the kitchen. This is super helpful.
I am trying this definitely! I become very anxious when my dog runs away to the streets he almost got hit 3 times… thank for making this tutorial.
we were almost fined 100$ ㅜㅜ i’m trying this too, here’s a good tip too, you should play fetch with your dog in the front and build a really good recall, my neighbors have a dog that was left home alone once on an extremely windy day so their door flew open and the dog walked out yet didn’t leave the yard at all. i’ll never forget that, so i always mention it
Thank you so much! Our older dog just automatically stayed in our yard, but our younger one struggles alittle 😅 this helped alot
Glad it helped 🙂
Love your videos!! Adopted an 18 month old toy poodle and have been trying to implement these videos! Thank you so much!
i dont know how I missed this video all these years. Such a great demonstration video.. THanks as always Emily!
